The Lodge and The Shepherd’s hut are both located in the most magical setting. It was perfect for a peaceful weekend away with friends; lots of space, comfortable beds, a BBQ for summer evenings and very close to a lovely town with great shops. We would definitely come back any time of the year.

Such a brilliant getaway. Wish we had stayed another night! The shepherds hut is in a great location, perfect for a walk along the river and the Globe pub was an excellent recommendation, thank you Charlotte!! The hut was clean and very homely. The log burner makes it lovely and cosy of an evening. Already looking at returning later in the year!

We wanted a quiet, off the beaten track hideaway, for an escape – but with two cocker spaniels! From the initial contact with Charlotte, we knew this was the place to book. The Shepherds Hut lived up to our expectations and was just perfect. It was quaint, tucked away, clean and had everything we needed. Charlotte was the most attentive host and gave us so many recommendations on what to do, where to eat, what to see. Advised on walks around the area and was very helpful in providing all the information we needed for our stay, especially with our accommodation and the grounds. It was beautiful weather and Charlotte had got out the garden furniture for us, as well as having kindling and logs for the wood burner in case the evening got cool – this was a very kind and thoughtful gesture – along with the fresh milk, juice and tea and coffee that was available.

We loved it and cannot recommend enough. We will be back and are just trying to sort out a night after the summer!

I stayed at The Lodge with 6 other adult family members of varying ages over the Easter break. We all mentioned the fact that the photos reflected exactly what the property looked like when we saw it, which was a positive start. The Lodge was in a secluded spot near the river, & we didn’t tire of the views & the sound of the water. It was a short easy 20 minute riverside walk into town which was simply lovely. Charlotte the host, messaged me before, during and after our stay, to ensure we had everything we needed. She was very helpful. We were greeted with Flowers, an Easter card, fresh bread, milk and local bath & shower products. As we were 7 adults and all preferred showers, it did take us a little time to all get ready for the day as there is only one shower in the ensuite( the main bathroom having a shower attachment over the bath). However, this was not a major issue for us. We’d all love to go back sometime. It’s a lovely property in super peaceful setting.

Exactly as described. A quaint shepherds hut in a beautiful spot in front of a lake. We loved every minute from the moment we arrived. We had such a peaceful night away, and it was lovely that our dog Bella felt at home too. Would highly recommend if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax.

Charlotte was a wonderful host, and was very kind in her willingness to accommodate a late checkout. She was very attentive, left coffees, teas and juices for us, turned on the heating for our arrival and gave excellent detailed instructions for how to reach the Airbnb, anything we might need in the house and offered some great local recommendations for us. Can’t speak more highly of the airbnb or Charlotte – thank you so much!

Charlotte’s Shepherds Hut is great and situated in a lovely, peaceful location on the side of a lake. The log burner is great for a cosy break watching the swans on the lake . We’ll definitely be coming back.

Wow – what a little gem of a place. Exactly as described, spotlessly clean and in a peaceful location yet only a mile into town where there are great options for food and drink. Charlotte was fantastic from the moment we booked – helpful advice, clear instructions and the Hut was set up perfectly prior to our arrival- we could not have asked for more. Everything was perfect during our stay. The area is lovely and peaceful, lots of places to go for a walk and the hut was in a private area. The hut itself was stunning. A lovely dining area during the day which we turned into a comfortable bed for the evening. I was worried about it being too cold due to the weather, but the hut was so nice and warm with the log fire.

Charlotte is great at communicating and all the instructions given were clear and easy to follow. When we contacted her, she replied back fast, making sure everything was fine for our stay. I would love to return with my boyfriend during the summer as it’s the perfect location. Definitely recommend.

The cottage is like a Tardis – Huge, warm, welcoming and incredibly modern inside. The views and garden were great with our dog and for long morning runs.

The house is directly next to some off road walks where you can wander down chalk streams to the local village which is brimming with pubs or, in the opposite direction, to a country pub in the middle of nowhere. Perfect for us, the kids and dog! Great find!
