Absolutely loved our stay! Charlotte was really proactive and informative, giving us lots of information about the local area and things to do. Shepherds hut was spotless and larger than we had anticipated. Would 100% return and would recommend to all.

What a fantastic property – so homely and comfortable, beautifully renovated with lots of modern extras. Well equipped kitchen and 2 ovens made cooking a Christmas dinner for 8 of us very stress free! The downstairs of the property is spacious but also still retains its’ cosy, cottage feel. The utility room was a great bonus for towelling off a muddy dog after a lovely river walk. All 5 bedrooms were warm with super comfy beds and river views. Charlotte was very attentive, contacting us several times before our trip, offering to help with decorating The Lodge for Christmas and for our big birthday celebrations. She also messaged when we arrived, during our stay and just before we left – we couldn’t have asked for more. This is a fabulous place to stay with friends or family in a beautiful setting, very close to the town of Alresford – which has plenty of pubs – even on Boxing Day!

We had the most incredible girls and babies weekend – perfect size for 5 babies and the black out blind rooms were perfect. The kitchen and all the appliances were fantastic and the lodge is just perfect. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed here to visit Winchester Christmas market and to have a peaceful break. It is a lovely place, very secluded and cosy. It was nice and warm, with heating as well as the log fire. There were facilities to cook although we enjoyed a meal out at the nearby Tichborne Arms, and breakfast at Josie’s, which were both great.

We had a wonderful stay at Charlotte’s beautiful shepherd’s hut. Charlotte was an exceptional host, providing detailed instructions that made it easy to find the accommodation. This place looked exactly like the photos! It was so beautiful!

The hut itself was absolutely stunning—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials like tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, fresh towels, even some playing cards and more.

We arrived on a stormy night, and it was such a thoughtful touch that Charlotte had closed the shutters and turned on the heaters for us. The cabin was warm, cozy, and inviting from the moment we stepped in. She also graciously allowed us a slightly later checkout, which we really appreciated.

The setting was peaceful and serene, with stunning river views that made our stay feel like a perfect little escape. We had such a cozy and relaxing time.

Having stayed here earlier in the year, we booked to come back just for a night away from the chaos of life.

Beautiful and quiet surroundings, Charlotte checked that everything was ok in advance of arrival, including a reminder of the access codes, and was on hand in the event of any queries.

And since the last visit, there was a mini handheld vacuum to use! It may not sound a lot, but when you have two spaniels you are aware of how much mess they can create in a very short space of time, and I feel that it’s not down to the host to clear up after them, so this was an added bonus!

We will be back in the Spring, and look forward to seeing the Spring colours and trees in bloom.

This shepherds hut was all we hoped for and more . Beautiful location that was so peaceful and private- we enjoyed looking out onto the lake and the swans that swam on it. The shepherds hut was super cosy and had a lovely wood burning stove that kept us toasty warm all night. It was spotlessly clean and had a very nice warm shower. Beautiful shepherds hut in a fabulous location, secluded overlooking the lake. We had a lovely walk round Alresford in the autumn sunshine and were able to sit out and watch the sun set. We were even lucky enough to see the atlas comet! Charlotte was a great host, giving us lots of helpful information from the check in details, walks and recommendations for places to eat where we could go with the dog. Highly recommended this shepherds hut.

We had a fantastic night in the Shepherds hut. It is in a truly tranquil and peaceful spot. A lovely, clean and well put together hut! It is finished so nicely. We drove down to the local village and had a lovely walk around and stopped off at a pub for a pint. Everyone around seems so friendly! Charlotte was amazing throughout gave us clear instructions on how to get there etc also was very accommodating to my extra ask, putting a “happy anniversary” sign in for me to make it that little bit more personal, so thank you very much for that. The wood burner was lovely so fitting and cosy. The bedding and towels were fresh and clean! Provided was shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and coffee/tea/hot chocolate and also fresh juice and milk in the fridge. It was nice to see some things to do, they have a few packs of cards and some books which was a bonus because sometimes when you go for quiet weekend away you do often forget to bring those things! I would 100% recommend! 10/10 cannot fault!

Charlotte is extremely responsive, friendly and a fabulous host who gave us a mountain of local recommendations before we arrived – too many for one weekend so we will just have to go back !! The cabin and surroundings are beautiful … idyllic I think is the best description. Lots of private space outside, pleasant walk into Alresford (which is a must-visit place!). Lots of village pubs, cafes and shops to wander around without venturing and to top it off, Winchester 10 minutes away if you want something a little bigger. Loved the place!

A very cosy and well presented hut that would be a shepherd’s dream! The secluded lakeside location is idyllic yet the many facilities of Alresford are within easy walking distance.. There are many local walks that can be done without the need to drive .However, Alresford and the Itchen Valley area also offer plenty of scope for fuller exploration. Charlotte was very proactive, helpful and polite with her communication. I let her know it was a gift and she remembered and offered to get anything we needed and drop to the hut. Very thoughtful.

We wanted a quiet, off the beaten track hideaway, for an escape – but with two cocker spaniels! From the initial contact with Charlotte, we knew this was the place to book. The Shepherds Hut lived up to our expectations and was just perfect. It was quaint, tucked away, clean and had everything we needed. Charlotte was the most attentive host and gave us so many recommendations on what to do, where to eat, what to see. Advised on walks around the area and was very helpful in providing all the information we needed for our stay, especially with our accommodation and the grounds. It was beautiful weather and Charlotte had got out the garden furniture for us, as well as having kindling and logs for the wood burner in case the evening got cool – this was a very kind and thoughtful gesture – along with the fresh milk, juice and tea and coffee that was available.

We loved it and cannot recommend enough. We will be back and are just trying to sort out a night after the summer!

I stayed at The Lodge with 6 other adult family members of varying ages over the Easter break. We all mentioned the fact that the photos reflected exactly what the property looked like when we saw it, which was a positive start. The Lodge was in a secluded spot near the river, & we didn’t tire of the views & the sound of the water. It was a short easy 20 minute riverside walk into town which was simply lovely. Charlotte the host, messaged me before, during and after our stay, to ensure we had everything we needed. She was very helpful. We were greeted with Flowers, an Easter card, fresh bread, milk and local bath & shower products. As we were 7 adults and all preferred showers, it did take us a little time to all get ready for the day as there is only one shower in the ensuite( the main bathroom having a shower attachment over the bath). However, this was not a major issue for us. We’d all love to go back sometime. It’s a lovely property in super peaceful setting.

Everything was perfect during our stay. The area is lovely and peaceful, lots of places to go for a walk and the hut was in a private area. The hut itself was stunning. A lovely dining area during the day which we turned into a comfortable bed for the evening. I was worried about it being too cold due to the weather, but the hut was so nice and warm with the log fire.

Charlotte is great at communicating and all the instructions given were clear and easy to follow. When we contacted her, she replied back fast, making sure everything was fine for our stay. I would love to return with my boyfriend during the summer as it’s the perfect location. Definitely recommend.

The cottage is like a Tardis – Huge, warm, welcoming and incredibly modern inside. The views and garden were great with our dog and for long morning runs.

The house is directly next to some off road walks where you can wander down chalk streams to the local village which is brimming with pubs or, in the opposite direction, to a country pub in the middle of nowhere. Perfect for us, the kids and dog! Great find!
